Self Regional Medical Center is a 420-bed not-for-profit community facility. The original building was founded in 1951, by local philanthropist James C. Self. A diverse population of 200,000 makes up its referral base.
The major surgical and medical specialties are well represented, with many of the 180 physicians on staff directly involved in resident training.
Located directly across the street from the Montgomery Center, the hospital features a state-of-the-art trauma-emergency department; Intensive and Cardiac Care Units; a family oriented birthing center with available Level III neonatal intensive care; a Transitional Care Unit with complete rehabilitative medicine services; and a recently completed open heart surgical suite. In July 2006, inpatient services were moved into the brand new 320 bed Patient Tower. The tower's care areas are a wonderful blend of clinical design and patient comfort. The entire building contains wireless access to the hospital's computing systems, offices on each floor designated for the residency program, and easy access to our existing Intensive Care Units, and Emergency Care Center.
The various outpatient facilities include SRH Diagnostic Imaging, Express Medical Care, and our own Montgomery Center for Family Medicine.
