In addition to the social events sponsored by the residency program, Greenwood and the surrounding towns have many annual events.
First and foremost would be the Festival of Flowers. Held in June each year, Greenwood's premier event showcases our fascination with flowers and plants. Held with an almost carnival atmosphere, the town brightens up in a floral bouquet. The Self Regional Medical Center medical staff and the Residency Program sponsor a continuing medical education conference to coincide with the festival.
Not to be outdone the Town of Ninety Six has its Revolutionary War Days, and Ware Shoals has its legendary Catfish Feastival. Other events throughout the year include the Uptown Wellness Celebration, Spring Fling, and various Civic Center events, such as the circus and the rodeo.
